About Vincent Industries

Woman working at Vincent Industries

Vincent Industries (VI) in Wynyard is a social enterprise operated by the St Vincent de Paul Society Tasmania. Vincent Industries has provided employment opportunities and skills training to people living with a disability for over four decades, while also providing a valuable service to the community.

As well as undertaking textile sorting activities, VI produces rags and sells them to local businesses across the North West Coast, including engineering, manufacturing, and mechanical enterprises. VI’s rag business has become an institution in the North West and North of Tasmania; and the number one choice of many environmentally responsible and socially aware businesses that treat VI as their preferred supplier of rags and other fabric products.

VI also has a successful business, sorting clothing and selling quality items in our adjacent Vinnies retail store. It also exports material for re purposing, helping to divert products from landfill. All profits from VI go towards supporting the good works of the St Vincent de Paul Society Tasmania in the community.
