Assistance with Food and Everyday Essentials

The St Vincent de Paul Society has members and community-focused Vinnies Support Centres right across NSW. They provide people in immediate crisis with food, clothing, other everyday essentials, help with bills, a friendly face to listen and importantly referrals as needed to other helpful services. How we can support you

Vinnies members are located in hundreds of communities across NSW and Vinnies Support Centres sit in a range of Greater Sydney suburbs and regional hubs. Though these, you can access immediate support with food, groceries, clothing and other everyday essentials, help navigating centrelink and other services, and support managing bills. We will listen to you and understand your circumstances, and we can link you up as needed with other helpful services – for example to assist with housing.

We can help you with:

  • Food parcels, groceries and clothing
  • Fuel cards
  • Other every day necessities
  • Speaking to electricity, other utility companies, landlords or others in your interests
  • Referral to relevant services
  • Assistance with completing forms and housing applications
  • Assistance with bills (e.g. utility bills)
  • Resources and information
  • Use of a computer
  • Support in applying for a No Interest Loan

Our call centre will forward your request for assistance to the volunteer members located nearest to you, and can be reached on 13 18 12.
