Overseas Partnerships Program - Conference Resources
The Overseas Partnerships Program (OPP) is coordinated on behalf of the Society by National Council of Australia Inc. The OPP is overseen and facilitated by its the Overseas Partnerships Advisory Committee and Secretariate, working with State and Territory Councils and Conferences.
The OPP is comprised of the following good works:

- Assist A Student
- Emergency Relief
The OPP is delivered through St Vincent de Paul Society partnerships in the following regions and countries:

- Oceania: Kiribati, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia (Chuuk).
- Asia: Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Sri Lanka
Emerging Societies are also supported by Vincentians in Australia through the Papua New Guinea Working Group and the Timor-Leste Working Group.

Twinning
Twinning refers to the supportive one-to-one partnership between a St Vincent de Paul Society council or conference in Australia and one in an overseas partner country, according to Council General International guidelines.
Promoting spirituality, friendship and an understanding between cultures, Twinning consists of Australian partners sharing:
- their spirituality through prayer
- their solidarity through communication
- material support through sharing a basic quarterly, monetary contribution and an optional grant at Easter and Christmas time
- optional support of overseas partner developed community development projects.

Assist A Student
Running in Australia since 1996, the Assist A Student program relies on donations from Vincentians, members of the public, schools and other groups and organisations to support the educational needs of a student in one of our partner countries. Students are supported at all levels of education – primary, secondary and tertiary and the program is highly valued by recipients.
In our partner countries, local Vincentians select students in need to receive the educational support and manage the program. Over the last fifteen years, nearly 65,000 students have been assisted.
